What People Say
Most Liked
One of the highlights at The Brown Onion is the $8 Italian beef special. Patrons rave about its generous portion and sumptuous flavor, a delicious treat without the hefty price tag.
People love the fast service and friendly staff, particularly mentioning Norenna for her exceptional hospitality. The atmosphere, reminiscent of the beloved ‘Cheers’ bar, encourages returning visits and cherished memories with friends.
The great beer selection always impresses, providing the perfect pair for a casual evening out. Many patrons also enjoy the French onion soup, reported to be delicious and well-portioned, making it a must-try.
Most Disliked
While the ambiance is mostly praised, some may find the pub-style setting a bit small and tight for large groups. Visitors have occasionally reported mixed experiences with certain menu items, like the chicken sometimes not living up to the usual freshness standards.
Another common feedback points to peak hours, especially Thursday nights, when it becomes highly busy. This often leads to longer wait times for food and service, somewhat detracting from the otherwise pleasant experience. It’s a trade-off for a lively crowd, but those seeking a quieter meal might wish to time their visit differently.
Lastly, as with any bustling restaurant, noise levels can rise during peak times, which might not appeal to diners looking for a more tranquil dining environment.

Old school bar with great specials. Very friendly people, felt like Cheers in there. Got the $8 Italian beef special with a side. Amazing price for these days. Beef was delicious with lots of beef on it. For the side I got the French onion soup and that was also very good and a good portion. In this age of shrinkflation and crazy prices on food, it was a pleasant surprise. I will be back for sure to try other menu items. Too bad I live an hour away...😐

I greatly appreciate Norenna who waited on me this afternoon. She really went out of her way to make sure I was happy with everything. My burger was excellent and perfectly cooked. Great service & Great food! Will be coming back soon.

My husband suggested we come here and I’ll admit, I was a bit unenthused by the small, pub-style setting. I was so wrong, and I will never assume again! Norenna is so welcoming and quick. We had the brawny burger and the chicken tenders, both really good! Tenders have a good crunch to them, burger was juicy, and the beer is pretty cheap!

Nice clean place. Limited menu for lunch. Chicken sandwich was very good. Only thing we both made comments about was- it was a small plastic cup for a $2.75 pop. Will go back but will drink water.
